Some investigations require more than a single object.
Sound at this level of fidelity has largely lived behind closed doors. In private listening rooms, in recording studios, in the collections of a few. Meanwhile, sound itself has become more available than at any point in human history, and less felt. Streamed constantly, compressed, delivered through earbuds and algorithms, separated almost entirely from the body. The installations exist to change that relationship. To bring the full dimensionality of sound into shared space, where it can do what it does best: alter perception, surface memory, shift the experience of time. For anyone who walks through the door.
OBEN installations are complete sonic environments. Multiple sculptural bodies arranged within an architectural space, each housing a precisely tuned acoustic instrument, each functioning within a larger field. Sound moves between the forms. The room becomes the work. There is no fixed listening point. There is no outside of it.

The investigation is spatial and temporal. What happens when a field of high-fidelity sound is given full architectural scale. Whether time can be experienced differently inside a room. What remains in the body after the score ends.
These are not installations where sound serves the visual. The sonic architecture is the primary force. The sculptures are its physical condition.
Each installation is developed in direct collaboration with its presenting partner, configured to the specific dimensions, context, and intention of the space. Scale, sculptural form, and original score are conceived as a single work.
OBEN installations are available for institutional commission, cultural programming, and presenting partnership.
